Maybe someday I might love CoHo… ⭐️ Book Review ⭐ Maybe Someday (Maybe, #1) Author: Colleen Hoover Book Rating ⭐️⭐⭐️✨ I’m in an emotional no man's land with Colleen Hoover. I enjoy her books, but there hasn’t been one that has blown my mind yet. Her books are kinda like reality TV for me, they have high drama, safe for TV heat and characters with questionable motives. They’re fun, but they never melt this stone cold reviewer’s heart. Maybe Someday is the first in the Maybe trilogy. It’s a cute premise, neighbors Sydney and Ridge jam out to Ridge’s music on their opposing balconies. Remember COVID balcony concerts?? Sydney writes lyrics, Ridge writes melodies. They begin a texting relationship and have a bit of a flirtmance even though they both are in relationships. Ridge witnesses Sydney’s BF macking on her roommate and he breaks the news to her and she moves out. Sydney ends up crashing at Ridge’s apartment where she learns her hot hero is deaf. This is the first time I’ve read a deaf hero. He’s a cinnamon roll through and through and at times too sweet for me. They clearly want to get it on during their intense song writing sessions, but both have extremely high morals and won’t even entertain the idea due to Ridge’s GF Maggie. It’s a lot of will they or won’t they and the self righteousness is a bit much. It dragged in the middle for me, BUT I did adore the songs that Hoover wrote. It’s a solid read but I wanted more heat and less preaching! #QOTD - Are you reading any series right now?
