The viscount who smelled me… Book Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Series Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ They both start similarly, Anthony decides to get hitched, and Edwina and Kate enter the season. Edwina is the frontrunner in both, but as soon as their families meet at the country estate, the series takes a turn. In the book, during the bee scene, Anthony sucks the stinger from Kate’s boob and they get caught. He marries her and the book becomes about him falling in love even though he has vowed not to since his father’s death. Edwina is like no big whoop, and marries another dude. This set up removes all the drama that is packed into the series. Adaptation thoughts: Likes 👸🏾 Diverse casting - Shondaland is one of the few production companies that consistently breaks the casting mold. 🎻 Music - still on point! Come on, Wrecking Ball for the final ball??? Genius. 🙋🏻♂️ Anthony - His character is a bit flat in the book, using the flashbacks scenes developed more depth and sympathy for him. 🏰 The Ton - I think what really makes this series work is the supporting cast, especially the Featherington’s. The side story with Cousin Jack was epic. 💁♀️ Lady Featherington - Polly Walker’s back of her hand to her head is everything. PLUS her final speech!! “I am a mother” … bitch. Dislikes 🤨 Lady Danbury - Her eyebrows are telling a story in a language I don’t understand, and how the hell is she cutting a rug at the failed Bridgerton ball when she trots around with a cane? 🌳 Shrubbery lurking 🙋🏻♀️ Eloise - I get that she’s socially awkward but come on! The OTT hand gestures and bizarre stances were so distracting. 🐶 Newton - needed more Newton! He had a huge scene in the book that was cut. 🙋🏻♂️ Anthony - What was with the creepy smelling?? In the U.K. lilies are the flower of death, not sure why that was such a turn on. 🤴🏾 Simon - I get the actor is done with the show, but it’s strange that he isn’t at the important social gathering. Having Daphne there just makes it more apparent that he’s absent. #QOTD - Thoughts?
