Diane: In my book, Shorty, a band geek and wannabe writer, can’t get into any of the guys she dates, but when she has to show around the new girl, things start to make more sense. But when her bitter ex gets wind of her crush, Shorty finds herself having to overcome his blackmail scheme to get her dream girl. I wish I had this book growing up to help me realize it’s okay if you have feelings that are different than is expected of you, or might veer off the path you had set for yourself.
