Part #4 of our chat with @danahawkinsauthor LUV: Which of your novels do you wish a producer would adapt onto the screen. Dana: All of them of course! But the one I visualize most as a movie is IN WALKED TROUBLE, which is about two competing bartenders. Growing up, I loved the movies Cocktail and Coyote Ugly. In the ’90s I was a bartender, which at the time was a pretty male-dominated field. Female bartenders felt like idols to me, and they all seemed so strong and powerful. One character, Remi, likes to box, and who doesn’t like watching a sexy woman throw punches? And the other character Maya, performs flair bartending, which is juggling, flipping bottles, spinning glasses. While writing this book, I visualized this as a movie starring Demi Lovato as Remi and Florence Pugh as Maya. If you happen to have their contact information, please let me know! ☺
