Add to your beach bag… ⭐️ ARC Audiobook Review ⭐ The Rom-Commers Author: Katherine Center Book Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ RELEASES JUNE 11TH Trope: Grumpy to sunshine Who’s in the mood for a beach read 🙋‍♀️ I needed an entertaining listen and I was thoroughly engrossed in Patti Murin’s narration. She narrates Christina Lauren’s books too and she’s fantastic. She delivers the right mix of sweet and sass. Meet Emma, she’s an aspiring screenwriter who has put her career on hold to look after her ailing father. She is a HEA girl and has a romance mental database that would rival Nancy Meyers. Logan, her friend/ex-boyfriend just happens to be the agent of famed screenwriter Charlie Yates. Charlie has written a horrific rom-com and wants to send his bestie romance doctor to fix it. Emma travels to LA to meet her idol, thankful to have the gig only to turn up on Charlie’s doorstep to find out he has no idea who she is AND he thinks his script is fantastic. He is a serious grump who doesn’t believe in love (he does have a good emotional wound) and through the magic of writing/teamwork he learns to love again and Emma learns to take a chance on herself. In regards to the filmmaking business there are a few glaring errors, but the characters and story was so strong I could shelf my criticism. It has the right amount of rom to its com.
