Part #3 of our chat with author @PatriciaWFischerauthor LUV: How would you describe your voice, style or brand to new readers? Patricia: I hope my voice is ultimately positive and passionate. I love the sound of laughter, even in the most serious of situations as those moments when a heart is heavy, remembering a nugget of joy can make the situation more beautiful. One thing I’ve been told by numerous people is my dialogue is natural and real. That people feel like they are part of the conversation and I’m thrilled to hear this. My biggest want for any book I write is for medical, historical, or legal facts to be 100% accurate. One of my big goals is to make sure what people are reading about an injury someone has when they come into the ER or a timeline or navigating an adoption (like in my next book), the facts are correct. In fact, in this next book, ADOPTING WITH THE DOCTOR, I called a few different places in Montana to verify their adoption and marriage laws. In LONE STAR LOVE, I have a character who’s an ovarian cancer survivor and dealing with the aftermath of not only her treatment, but how her (ex) husband dealt with it. Her picking up the pieces on many levels. This was super important to get his right as my best friend of over 50 years had OC and shared so many details of what she went through and how people handled things. Her ability to share so much with me is why I’m a big advocate for women’s health and wellness and an advocate with the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA) LUV: If I am a new reader to you, what book or series should I start with? Paricia: Oh gosh, it depends. Do you like Texas Cowboys or Montana ER physicians? If you want a Texas Cowboy series, check out my Tuscany Texas series. Right now, there are three books and I’m editing book four. It has the stories of siblings and cousins in a Hill Country Town of Tuscany, Texas. Although they are dealing with very real issues, it’s also fun and saucy. My goal is to have several more books in the series within the next year or so. If you prefer a medical romance, start with the Marietta Medical series book, RESISTING THE DOCTOR. It’s the story of four siblings, all relocating to Marietta from Florida. I based the siblings on the Pevensie children from the Narnia series. Lucy’s book is first as she goes through the wardrobe first, then Edmund, Peter, and finally, Susan’s book comes out in June. I have the rights back to my women’s fiction novel and am currently editing it and more in that series. It’s my hope to have that one up and running by the end of the summer.
