This week LUV is spotlighting paranormal romance author @MariaVale πŸ’• LUV: Can you tell us about MOLLY MOLLOY AND THE ANGEL OF DEATH which was named one of the top ten romances of 2023 by the New York Times. On the surface it seems very different from your Legend of All Wolves series, but is it such a big change? Maria: When I was a kid, I moved around. A lot. My mother was a divorced graduate student and we frequently moved twice a year. As a result, I often felt like a stranger so my sympathy is always with the outsider looking through the window at the people inside. In The Legend of All Wolves, the pack is much more wolf than human but they must live in a world dictated by humans. They take classes in human behavior and are careful not to let their facades slip while Offland (away from their territory) because they are the ultimate outsiders. In Molly Molloy & the Angel of Death, Dee (Death) has lived among humans for nearly 200,000 years but he only has the experience of life at its very end. He steals our food, wears our clothes, plays with our stuff, but without understanding the passage of time, he again, is an outsider. So yes, they are different from each other but in my mind at least, they are dealing with some of the same issues.
