This week LUV's spotlighting Emma-Award-winning author K.T. Bond @authorktbond who writes contemporary romances about men and women of different ages (late-20s to 50), races, and cultural heritages, all embracing their second chance for love and passion. LUV: Tell us about your writing career. K.T. Bond: I’ve been writing publicly for a while. I began posting my stories serially in March 2007 on literotica.com at the encouragement of my friends on Multiply, a now-defunct blogging and chat platform. It was there that my first ghostwriting client found me in 2013 and offered me the chance to share my stories with a larger, paying audience. I wrote many kinds of romance for him, from sweet/clean (don’t get me started on that label!), interracial, billionaire, paranormal. In fact, my first series as a ghostwriter was written for that client. From there, I made an Upwork freelance ghostwriter account and went searching for other clients. I wrote Regency romances (I LOVE those, to read and to write!) sheik romances, and MM romances. My second series was in the MM genre. I haven’t ghostwritten any more stories since my last contract ended with my MM client. As to how I went from writing for others, starting at $50 per story and ending up at around $800 a story, I had a lot of friends demanding that I stop giving my clients all my ideas. What if I ran out of ideas, they asked. I’d be stuck writing for other people and having to take their story ideas, many of which I didn’t like. So I took a chance and went back to my Literotica account, took two of my completed novels and a series of shorts and published them as K. T. Bond on Amazon. One of those stories, which at the time was a standalone, had the makings of two other stories embedded in it, so I gave the series to 4 Horsemen Publications, thereby making myself a hybrid author, since I continue self-publish my own stories, while I write series for them.
