Part #2 of our interview with producers/actors @Christopher_Giroux @Ann Pirvu LUV: Congratulations on your wedding and all of your Romance movie successes which continue to resonate with Hallmark and TV audiences. Tell us what you love most about Romance movies. A: First of all, thank you so much for the kind sentiments. The last few months have been a bit of a whirlwind, and we are genuinely very proud to get to collaborate on so many amazing projects. What we probably love most about making Romance movies is the aspirational atmosphere they inspire, both in front of the camera and for viewing audiences especially with Christmas Romance Movies. The twinkle lights, vibrant colours, Christmas traditions and accessible nature of each story, as well as the consistent emphasis on—well, love, every step of the way, makes for the most beautiful, worthwhile, and magical reason to come to work every day. C: We actually incorporated twinkle and fairy lights-- the “twinklage” as I like to call it, in both the ceremony and reception aesthetic of out BEACH wedding – that’s how much we live Christmas romance around here. A: The very first film we made together was a romance film called Learning To Love Again, and to this day our friends joke it helped us… learn… to love again ;). Which it did! So that’s actually another lovely thing about working on these movies. They teach and remind us what truly matters in life, and what it means to love and be loved. They are so important because love is the most beautiful thing that continues to feed our souls, and helps us thrive through our journey of life, as human beings. Universally. LUV: What projects are you currently working on or most recently worked on? A: We actually just wrapped a feature called Operation Nutcracker right before the holidays that Christopher produced, and I acted in— and I must say I’m very excited for everyone to experience the family dynamics in the movie ;) Getting to play Jennifer Dale’s daughter and Christopher Russell’s sister was an enormous amount of fun. We also got to spend a few months in beautiful Nova Scotia last summer, filming “Christmas Island” starring the phenomenal Andrew Walker and Rachel Skarsten. Truly an amazing experience, and a highlight project of 2023! C: For me - 2023 saw the release of Take Me Back For Christmas, Flipping For Christmas and Christmas Island. It was fun to release Christmas movies in the summer and the winter! Additionally, we shot Operation Nutcracker together and principle photography started only 13 hours after landing back from our wedding… thank goodness no flights were delayed and everyone made it to set on time ☺
