Part #2 of our interview with author, @Adele Buck LUV: You have worked as a bookseller, a server, a communications manager, an actor, a stage manager and currently as a librarian at a law school. How have these varied jobs helped you write your books? How do you balance a full time career and writing? Adele: Well, first of all (to start with your last question), I have an incredibly supportive spouse who cooks. That’s a huge part of it. And being an academic law librarian is the kind of job you leave at work. If I was still doing communications for a publicly traded company? I don’t see novel writing happening with that kind of chaotic lifestyle. As to having had a lot of different jobs, I think the biggest thing it gives me is the knowledge that I might be able to imagine what a job might be like, but I’ll probably be very wrong about a lot of the details and will need to do some research (because I went through that learning curve multiple times)! For instance, even though I’d spent a decade in the theater world, when I was writing the Center Stage series I contacted old friends who were still actors, stage managers, casting directors, etc. to make sure my details were still accurate, as it had been many years. And my audiobook narrator, actress Moniqua Plante, said they were spot on–a huge weight off my shoulders!
