Here’s to a better sequel… ⭐️ Book Review ⭐ Here’s To Us Author: Becky Albertalli, Adam Silvera Book Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Here’s To Us is the follow-up to the 2018 release What If It’s Us. I gave the first installment 3 stars because I felt it leaned on too many pop culture references and the character’s immaturity shone brighter than the lights on Broadway. I’m happy to report that in the sequel, there are zero references and Ben and Arthur have grown into adults who can properly communicate! Now 3 years later, Ben and Arthur are seeing other people. Arthur lands an internship that brings him back to NYC and to Ben. They reconnect and their feelings for each other are resurrected. They must process what it means for their current relationships and their careers. We get two tropes, love triangles and second chance romance, which are both delightful. There’s a lot of drama, but also a lot of innocence and joy. The book ends 5 years into the future so not sure if we will get a third installment. You could read this one as a standalone, but reading the first will enhance the storytelling. #QOTD - Do you usually like the first or second book in a series?
