What is the most challenging thing about being a romance creator? E - The best thing about the romance genre is the escapism, of course! As romance content creators, there’s nothing more fun than literally swooning at something you just wrote. Katy and I have a blast with it, especially as actors who like to read the scenes out loud. And challenges often come in the form of tropes... while we don’t ever want to feel repetitive or like we’re using the same devices over and over, tropes can also work because they’re so relatable, and they can ground the story in a real way. K - For example, the love triangle works because they happen so often in real life and it’s something a viewer can probably connect with on some level, but you never want to feel like it’s overdone, or that it’s not fresh. It’s a delicate balance.
