This week LUV is spotlighting romantic suspense author Linda O. Johnston. LUV: You have two new books out this month: a new Colton title from Harlequin Romantic Suspense and Cry Wolf under the name Lark O. Jensen. Can you tell us about these books? What is it like writing a mystery series under a new name? Also, why the O? Linda: The first is CSI COLTON AND THE WITNESS, the eleventh in this year’s Colton series from HRS. Each year, a different branch of the busy, sometimes mysterious and always romantic Colton family is highlighted, and this year’s is Coltons of New York. My story involves two crime scene investigators who shouldn’t get involved... but since it’s a romantic suspense book there’s no surprise that they do! CRY WOLF is the second in my Alaska Untamed Mysteries published by Crooked Lane Books using my first pseudonym, Lark O. Jensen. In it, the protagonist Stacie Calder, a naturalist who gives tours in the waters near Juneau, Alaska, in the summer, is at a local animal sanctuary for the winter, helping to take care of the wildlife. As always, she has her husky Sasha with her, and one of the managers at the sanctuary isn’t happy about that and keeps giving her a hard time. When that manager is found murdered, apparently by wolves, Stacie has to figure out whodunnit to protect both the wolves and herself. Writing a mystery series under a new name has been fun, especially since I can tell the world that Lark O. Jensen just happens to be the same person as Linda O. Johnston, who has written several mystery series as well as other books. The O in my real name is an abbreviation of my maiden name, and in Lark’s name it's just to help people recognize it’s still me.
