Part #3 of our chat with Lauren D.M. Smith. LUV: If I am a new reader to you, what book or series should I start with? All of my books are stand-alones, so really, you could start with any of them. Though honestly, I struggled with my second one a bit (Enveloping Shadows), and that seems to have really shown in that it’s definitely readers least favourite. Emperor’s Arrow, my first, is by far the most popular of the three, and the one I won So You Think You Can Write with. But I think Heart of Crystal is really good as well, though I’m obviously biased, though it seems to have gotten fewer readers overall.
