Nancy Yeaman: In a pitch, I first look for the project’s potential. A project starts with the creative in the pitch but then needs to be pushed to its full potential. The world setup and the main characters tell us a lot about how the concept can expand. Second, I give a lot of consideration to whether we’re the right people to produce it. It needs to fit within our filming world, our facilities, what we’re good at. It’s great when the pitch evokes strong visuals that we can build on screen. We need to understand what the broadcast home for it is too, so that we believe we can not just develop it but produce it. Most importantly, I need to see something in it that I just love.
