Love at first luggage... ⭐️ Book Review ⭐ Just Haven’t Met You Yet Author: Sophie Cousens Book Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice Rating 🌶 I enjoyed Cousens’ first novel, This Time Next Year, so I was keen to read her new release, Just Haven’t Met You Yet. I think her writing has evolved and she’s reached a new depth of warmth and romance in her work. This isn’t a steamy book, it’s a love letter to the optics of romance. Are we obsessed with the meet-cute, what boxes our mates check, or how our partner will be perceived by family or friends? Cousens goes there and makes you feel the intangibles of love. Enter Laura, she writes the “How Did You Meet” column for a popular U.K. lifestyle blog. She is being pressured by her Miranda Priestly-esque boss, Suki, to come up with some fresh spon-con. Laura pitches her now deceased parents story, which includes a multi-generational meet-cute centered on two halves of a penny coming together. Suki approves and Laura is sent off to the island of Jersey for further research. While at the airport she accidentally swaps cases with someone. At her hotel she rummages through the stranger’s case and finds her perceived perfect match based on its contents. She hires Ted, a complicated, yet hot cab driver to take her around the island for her research, and to help her track down hot suitcase man. During an epic self-discovery weekend, Laura learns her parents' real love story and ignites one of her own. This book has everything: 🤝 Multiple meet-cutes 🐶 Dog antics 🔥 Closet sex 💍 Artisan jewelry 🧔🏻 Man makeover 🧳 Designer luggage 🌊 The sea 👵🏼 Randy old people 👩🏻🍳 Countless kitchens 🐮 Nudgy cows 🎵 Endless Phil Collins references AND some wise words of advice: “Unsuitable men always kiss better.” BIG FACTS! #QOTD - Opposites attract or samesies?
