This week, LUV's spotlighting USA Today bestseller and award winning author Lucy Monroe. LUV: You have written over 85 books. How? What are some of your books that are particularly memorable to you? Lucy: I will never be able to write all the story ideas in my head (or those I've written down and filed away) because new ones keep coming. For me, the question is how would I function without telling my stories? Writing is joy, therapy, entertainment, engagement and moments of connection with my own heart. There are so many more stories to tell and I hope that never changes. There's a saying that an author's favorite book is the one she is working on now. In a very real sense, that is true. I fall in love with every new set of characters and get completely invested in their stories. There is something special to me about every single book I have written because those characters and their stories get woven into the fabric of my heart. A couple of books I'm really proud of are: BLACKMAILED INTO MARRIAGE because my editor encouraged me to write about a topic rarely mentioned at the time. Female sexual dysfunction. Through that book's publication, I met some wonderful people working in the field who appreciated having Vaginismus addressed so frankly in a story for mass consumption. And a much more recent book (my latest) DEMANDING MOB BOSS. Anna, the FMC, is neurodivergent and several readers have reached out to tell me how much they relate to her and see themselves in her. Connecting to readers like that means the world to me.
