Part #4 of our interview with @Erin & Racheline. You can now read the first 3 chapters of That Special Something now in our books section! LUV: Which of your novels do you wish a producer would adapt onto the screen. RM: With the very important after the WGA strike is over caveat (I’m SAG-AFTRA and thus also on strike now), that’s easily A QUEEN FROM THE NORTH, which is set in a modern, diverse, but alternate Britain that we describe as a not-so-united kingdom where the Wars of the Roses have never ended. So there’s factional rivalry between York and Lancaster, but there’s also paparazzi and social media. It is a very well-developed, specific, and funny world; we’re doing more in the series, and it was named Library Journal’s Best Indie Ebook the year it came out. We often describe as if Game of Thrones was a contemporary romcom without rape or violence. EM: Racheline took my answer! But, again with the after-the-WGA strike-is-over caveat -- I'm going to say our latest book, THAT SPECIAL SOMETHING. It's set in coastal Maine, which is so stunningly beautiful, and I'd love to see the story actually set out in that landscape. It's got a lovely small-town feel, with fun locations and great side characters, and possibly my favorite hero we've ever written, which is saying something. A QUEEN FROM THE NORTH is prestige TV material; THAT SPECIAL SOMETHING is a cozy, movie-length, happily ever after that would be great to watch on a rainy afternoon to just enjoy the vibes.
