Part #2 of our chat with authors Erin McRae & Racheline Maltese. Connect with them @Erin & Racheline 👋 LUV: How would you describe your voice, style or brand to new readers? RM: The line on our business cards is “writing happily ever afters for difficult people with complicated lives.” We’re never writing a story where a character has to be perfect to find love. People are messy, and people can learn and improve. We also write about a lot of different ways to find romantic happiness. Some of our romances end in a wedding and children; some only do one of those things or none of those things. We’ve written monogamous romances and polyamorous romances. EM: Also, we love banter. We love stakes. We love characters who mess up and learn and grow and are loved through all of it. We LOVE a good grovel. To date I think everything we’ve written has been contemporary romance set approximately now, although both of us have some historical stuff and some sci-fi stuff in the works. We also love to play with just a hint of magic around the edges of things. Mostly, we write the books we want to read: Messy people doing their best and finding love and gracefulness in the work of living.
