Writing that moves you… ⭐️ ARC Book Review ⭐ Lease on Love Author: Falon Ballard Book Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🚨 Debut author alert 🚨 In Lease on Love, Ballard has constructed a slow burning romance filled with emotional trauma and a banger of a brownstone. The book opens with Sadie Green, who gets fired from her financial analyst job in spectacular fashion. She needs to reduce her expenses, so she seeks out cheaper digs on a NYC roommate App. She connects with Jack Thomas, a loveable comic book nerd, who’s renting out a room in his Brooklyn brownstone. While Sadie reboots her homelife, she decides to roll the dice and follow her passion, arranging flowers. The two go from roomies to friends to lovers. They both have a lot of emotional baggage from their childhoods that they need to unpack in (let me remind you again) their gorgeous brownstone. Sadie provides friendship and laughter, which Jack so desperately needs, and Jack showers Sadie in encouragement and support. Sadie isn’t your typical romance MC. She is crass and has a shit ton of sass. It’s a lot at first, but once you understand her backstory it makes sense. Jack might be the most swoonworthy book BF. He always brings dinner, texts often, watches Real Housewives and provides cheap real estate. Sign me up! It takes about 250 pages to get to any steam, but I can guarantee it is worth the wait. This book is all about the anticipation ❤️ Like Sadie’s flowers, their love takes a lot of nurturing, but when it blooms it’s beautiful. #QOTD - What’s your favorite flower?
