This week LUV's spotlighting @authoraimeebrown who's a writer of romantic comedies set in Portland, Oregon. She writes closed door romance (NO sex scenes, light kissing) with humour and crude language. LUV: Why romantic comedy? Aimee: I fell in love with rom coms in the nineties as a teenager. Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, along with all the 90s rom com greats – Drew Barrymore, Katherine Heigl, Reese Witherspoon, etc. – really grabbed me by the heart and I knew I wanted to submerse myself in this genre forever. I love that feeling of experiencing a new romance through word/film. LUV: How would you describe your voice, style or brand to new readers? Aimee: 90s rom com with a hint of 80s, crude jokes, swearing, laugh out loud jokes, romance-romance-romance, but fade to black sex scenes. (Sorry, super spice lovers. My books are sexy and fun, but I prefer fade-to-black, yet have a mouth like a sailor so wouldn’t considering myself ‘sweet.’)
