Ette-traordinary… ⭐️ Audiobook ARC Review ⭐ Dykette Author: Jenny Fran Davis Book Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ RELEASES TODAY MAY 16TH Wow, now this is fresh!! I haven’t read a book this smart and smutty before. This won’t be for everyone, but if you enjoyed the sexy yet bizarre nature of Vladimir then you will enjoy her queer cousin. Let’s start with the name, Dykette. In the book, the MC Sasha describes a dykette as a lesbian that attracts both a butch’s gaze and a fem’s stare. These two desires are in a state of constant flux. When you add “ette” to the end of the word you are feminizing it and giving the meaning of the word less value. There isn’t a real plot to this book so you just have to go along with the ride. The “love story” examines queer nonconformity and seductive normativity. Sasha and her partner, Jesse go to their new sugar momma’s winter retreat over the holidays. They are joined by another couple of cool girl queer clout chasers. The six women spend 10 days together dissecting their identities and the performative nature of their respective roles. There is sex, drugs and lots of Chloe Sevigny. The steam is hot in this one ❤️‍🔥 The narration by Alex Schmidt is outstanding and adds to the sexualized nature of the book. The book is written very conversationally so I found it hard to keep all the details sharp in my head while listening. If I read it then it might’ve been 5 stars! If you are looking for something different with a strong POV you should definitely add this one to your list! Thank you Macmillan Audio for this advanced copy! #QOTD - Are you trying out any new authors this month?
