Have the Kleenex ready 😭... ⭐️ Book Review ⭐ What Might Have Been Author: Holly Miller Book Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ This book had me up all night turning pages. I can’t remember the last time I read such a compulsive romance. No dragging here! The book follows Lucy, a youngish Brit, who has just quit her content planning agency job. She decides to hit the pub to celebrate where she briefly meets Caleb. While he starts chatting her up, she sees her ex-boyfriend Max. She never got over their breakup and leaves Caleb to say hello. While Lucy and Max reconnect, Caleb slips his number into Lucy’s jacket. The book then shifts into two alternating timelines: STAY - Lucy stays in her sleepy seaside town, lives with her sister and pursues the novel she has dreamed of writing. In this scenario, she finds Caleb’s number and the two start dating. The only problem is that he is technically still married, BUT still super hot. GO - Lucy moves to London, takes another agency job and starts dating Max again. After a few months, she finds out why he broke up with her and WOW it will leave you 🤬 This relationship is one of the most complicated and emotional I’ve ever read. I don’t want to give it away but I was balling at the end of this story. It’s so messy and brutal it will leave you wrecked!! What’s really different about this novel is that it hits a philosophical level. At the beginning of the book Lucy believes in the concept of soulmates and the idea of fate. Throughout the novel she debates the concepts of free will vs. predetermination. It’s deep! If you want to put yourself through a tornado of feels you need to read this book! #QOTD - What are you reading this week?
