LUV: You are the host of Story Behind the Story, a YouTube channel where romance readers and authors connect. Can you tell us about it? Reese: I’d been toying with the idea of starting a podcast or vlog for years, but it felt intimidating. Then, two years before the pandemic struck, I started attending reader conferences. Despite being an introvert, I enjoyed connecting with readers and author friends at these events. But the pandemic shut everything down. That’s when I decided I wanted to do interactive author chats that readers could be a part of. The last push to just take the leap was that I’d gotten a nose piercing the day before shutdown was declared. I realized that if I didn’t go ahead and start my show, no one was ever gonna see it. LOL. I’m so grateful to have had so many amazing authors I truly adore as guests on Story Behind the Story. I kicked the show off a couple of years ago with Kennedy Ryan, Farrah Rochon, and Olivia Dade. I’ve had Black romance legends Beverly Jenkins, Brenda Jackson, Jacquelin Thomas, and Donna Hill on the show. I had great chats with Naima Simone, Adriana Herrera, Talia Hibbert, Priscilla Oliveras, Vanessa Riley, Jayci Lee, and Denise Williams, to name a few. And I’m looking forward to upcoming chats with Megan Frampton, Rebekah Weatherspoon, Shirley Hailstock, and more.
