⭐️ Book Adaptation Review ⭐ Daisy Jones & The Six Author: Taylor Jenkins Reid Book Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐⭐ Series Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐⭐✨ **** SPOILERS **** Here’s my thoughts on the adaptation: 🎭 The show made the story better, period. Since the book is an oral history, all the drama and tension is presented in a rear view mirror which sucks the air out of it. We get soundbites of convos and fights. Daisy and Billy are never really together. The show was able to create those scenes properly. The actors captured what the reader had to create in their minds. 🎶 Ah… it’s a show about music. After reading Reid’s amazing lyrics in the book I wanted to hear those songs and the show didn’t disappoint. I’m shocked at how good the music is, like really really good. 🎤 I could’ve done without the present day interviews in the series. They technically don’t work since if your were really making a “documentary” the past footage would be A) Film B) Shot amateruly C) Not include intimate moments. IMO the show should’ve just been a straightforward narrative and ignored this piece. I found some of the interview cuts took you out of the moment. 💇🏻♂️ Why does Billy have a blowout in the interviews?? 💁🏼♀️ Suki Waterhouse is a serve 😖 I HATE the color correction with a passion. The production team did such a great job with the sets and wardrobe and the editors washed it all out and made the series look visually flat. I found it easier to watch the show on my laptop so I could turn up the brightness. 😘 I’m glad that Billy and Daisy make out in the series. Those characters needed to be pushed and I think having a taste of what they thought they wanted fueled their desires and regrets more. 👋 I LOVE the ending! The showrunners left it open, like the book so they can produce Season 2, which they said they want to do. I really hope Amazon greenlights another season so we can see Daisy and Billy 2.0. #QOTD - Have you watched the series, thoughts?
