This week LUV's spotlighting Angelique Migliore who's an award-winning author of contemporary, mythological, and Sci-Fi romances. @angelique.migliore.author is also our LUV member of the month 🏆 LUV: Tell us something that most fans don’t know about you. Angelique: From my earliest memories, I was a fan and by-product of PBS’s BIG BLUE MARBLE show. There, I learned to explore and to love cultures, religions, cuisines, and languages from around the globe. I also learned that people everywhere deserve respect and dignity. At the end of every show, you could sign up for a pen pal to learn from and share with. Yes, I still have my pen pal from that show, and we have spent time in person over the years. My Nana also loved to travel the world and have new adventures with my Papa. When I was a teenager, my Nana and I were having tea, and she looked at me and giggled, “You’re just like your Nana!” I said, “Oh, really? How is that?” And she said, “Somebody says ‘Let’s go!’ or ‘Let’s eat!’, and you’re either in the car or at the table.” My Nana loved Morocco the most, and I miss her stories terribly. Not coincidentally, I became a linguist, I have been professionally trained in the kitchen, and I have an MA in Religious Studies. My stories are steeped in languages, belief systems, foods, and settings which support all of those. My characters are varied, being multi-cultural, multi-lingual, and always hungry! I have lived, worked, and traveled around the globe, filled my heart with the beauty that is our planet and her people, and will always consider myself a citizen of Planet Earth. I cherish my global friends and the cities I have fallen in love with. I strive to share that beauty with the world through my books. I do truly believe in UNIVERSAL LOVE. I also have an ugly shoe fetish, but we don’t talk about that.
