What is the most challenging thing about being a romance writer? Rosanna: For me, the best thing about being a romance writer has been those wonderful moments when a manuscript starts coming together. It’s such a great feeling when a scene hits all the right notes, and you think to yourself, “I did that!” And, of course, seeing readers respond to those moments is incredible. The most challenging thing, on the other hand, is the struggling part. Sometimes it can take a while to get to that place of satisfaction. Maybe the plot hasn’t been hashed out enough. Maybe I haven’t done a deep enough dive into the characters. Whatever the reason may be, it can be so deflating and draining when you can’t figure out what’s wrong with a story. The good news is that if you keep at it, it will eventually resolve. I always know that there will be a stage in my writing where the dots just aren’t connecting, but that if I keep at it, I will find a way through.
