Accidentally engaging... ⭐️ Book Review ⭐ Accidentally Engaged Author: Farah Heron Book Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I read a lot of holiday romance at the end of 2021 and I was hoping for something with a fresher POV to start out 2022. Heron delivered big time with her South Asian enemies to friends to lovers to enemies to lovers novel. I was really getting sick of well … reading about romance sickness. Enough of the sick/dead relatives already! In Accidentally Engaged, Heron brings a richly layered story filled with family values, business relationships, feuds and a heck of a lot of bread. We follow Reena, who has just lost her shitty retail job. She’s single and living in her father’s apartment building. She really wants a job in baking, but isn’t quite sure how to go about transitioning her career. Her father is in real estate and he has just moved in his newest employee, Radim, into the apartment across the hall from Reena. Her family has set up an arranged marriage with Radim, but Reena wants to make her own way. The two end up becoming friends and fake an engagement to enter into a reality baking show. But the bread isn’t the only thing that starts to rise … All is going well until Reena finds out that Radim is already engaged and a member of her family’s arch rivals! Is he a secret spy? Does he really like Reena? And most importantly who will win the bake-off?? This novel has so much heart and humor. I guarantee you will be grinning ear to ear multiple times while reading this book. The sex scenes are subtle but Heron peppers enough heat to fire up a bakers dozen. If you are looking for a feel-good romance with a fresh take you should definitely add this to your TBR! @mrsfilm and @nancy you should check this one out for a non-seasonal film.
