But not the last... ⭐️ Book Review ⭐ The First to Die at the End Author: Adam Silvera Book Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is the prequel to They Both Die In The End. Both books are set in the same “Death-Cast” world, where a tech company can predict what day you’re going to die. You sign up for the service and if you are a “decker,” the company calls you at midnight and lets you know it’s your last day on earth. If you liked The Measure you might like this one. In the prequel it opens on the first day of Death-Cast at midnight where the team is making their first set of calls. I liked that Silvera put the creator of the tech company as a character in this novel with his own POV. If anything I would’ve liked more story from the Death-Cast team. At the launch party for Death-Cast in Times Square, we met gay teens, Orion and Valentino. Both have registered for the service for different reasons and connect at the event. One receives a call … Their lives will be forever entwined following the events of the launch. What I liked more about the prequel is that it focuses on other adult characters and how the introduction of this service shapes their worlds. Overall it feels much more mature and elevated. This is a high stakes romance! Yes, there is classic Silvera YA teen love, but in this novel the world is rich, dark and hidden with deep meaning. I love a dark romance!
