Part #2 of our chat with @danacorbitnussio LUV: When did you know you wanted to be a writer? How did you embark on the journey to publication? Dana: I never consciously chose to be a writer when I was a child. I just always wrote. I was the class poet in third grade, I won an essay contest in fifth grade, and in sixth grade, my teacher used my journal as her example. At age ten, I even wrote a play that featured a talking horse. (In case you’re asking, no, I can’t find it. 😊) My journey led me to my first career as a journalist, but it wasn’t until I’d left to be a stay-at-home mom that I discovered a new love for fiction writing. A few weeks before delivering our second daughter, I attended a full-day novel-writing class for a fun day out. I gave birth and returned to my normal life. Then a few weeks later, I awoke from a dream with a plot and wrote my first novel. Though that story was never published, I was hooked. I’ve been writing romance novels ever since.
