LUV: You write under two names: Dana Nussio and Dana Corbit. Why the two names. What are the advantages and challenges? Dana: I have two sides as an author, but I assure you, both are fully me. When I sold my first book to Harlequin Love Inspired in 2001, I had three young daughters at home and thought I could shield them from my professional life, so I wrote under my maiden name, Dana Corbit. I realized how naïve I was when an elderly gentleman, who was struggling with his subscription to my publisher’s reader service, called to ask for my help on my home phone number. I loved my inspirational romances and the relationships I formed with readers. But when I moved to writing contemporary romance and romantic suspense, I chose to use my married name, Dana Nussio, to signal to readers that these books would contain grittier plots and a slightly higher sensuality level. There are a few challenges to having two pseudonyms. For one, no one knows where to place you at book signings. I also originally had separate Facebook pages and websites, but I have folded them together now since in the end, they are both just me.
