Our in-house romance expert @Malle has just finished watching the latest episodes of the heartfelt Korean Netflix series, Extraordinary Attorney Woo. Here's her review! Extraordinary Attorney Woo Wins at Romance by Malle If the romance fan in you is looking for a legal drama with a charming cast and a slow burn romance then Extraordinary Attorney Woo (Netflix) is for you. Woo Young-Woo is a young lawyer with Autism spectrum disorder. She boasts a high IQ, an impressive memory and a wonderfully creative thought process, but she struggles with everyday interactions. As the series starts she has begun her career at a prestigious law firm. The other lawyers find her…peculiar, but Lee Jun-Ho, the most popular and handsomest man at the firm finds her… intriguing. Every episode is a standalone case as secrets and betrayals are uncovered (who is Woo Young-Woo’s mother?) and the show challenges the commonly held misconceptions of autistic people lacking social skills and emotional intelligence. And, oh the romance! At 16 episodes, the show knows how to reveal attraction, develop obstacles including those created by well-meaning people, and dramatize internal struggles and bravery. Also it’s funny! You’ll learn a lot about whales and want to eat Gimpap. Fingers crossed for season 2.
